What are Silly Helmet Covers
They
are rubber latex covers that you fit over your open face helmet giving
you a very "different" look. If you have a streak of "barbarian" in you, these will compliment your style. Whether you are a "lone wolf" or prefer to ride in "packs", this is an accessory that will definately attract attention. If you have a bit of "Viking" or "Celtic" heritage, then why not return to your roots, and feel the connection. Then, of course, you might be like me, just a bit of a madman, and

Feedback on these as been awesome.......Bikers in the UK, USA, Holland,
Belgium, France, Sweden, Denmark, Estonia, Australia, Ireland, Czech
Republic, Spain, and now Canada, can be seen wearing
them......they were available at Friday 13th, Port Dover bike rally,
this past June, 2008, at Sturgis Rally, USA, 2008 and Copdock Show in
Suffolk, UK, summer 2008.
They are disigned to fit the
majority of open face motorcycle helmets (including those with a
detachable visor) but they can also be worn on helmets made for
skateboarders, skiers, snowboarders, bicyclists, hockey,
equestrian.....and even hard hat constuction helmets.
These covers are hand made, and designbed to fit, the smallest Beanie helmet, as worn primarily in the US, and by our bolder brothers and sisters in Canada. They fit a variety of Half Helmets, worn by a large number of cruiser riders in Canada, and we have one that fits the open Three Quarter helmet. (see "fitment" section)

Silly Helmet Covers
Mk1 Black Horny
The Mk1 is designed to fit the "Beanie" type
helmet. These helmets are worn primarly by our American friends and
some of our bolder brothers and sisters in Canada. This helmet cover
will fit helmets that are 28" to 30" (71 to 76 cm) in circumference.
The back and sides of the cover can be trimmed to fit the profile of
the helmet.
Mk2 Black Horny
The Mk2 is designed to fit the "Three Quarter" type
helmet. These helmets are worn by many bikers across North America.
This helmet cover will fit helmets that are 34" to 36" (86 to 91 cm) in
circumference. Depending on the depth of the helmet, will determine how
much of the sides of the helmet will remain exposed.
Mk3 Black Horny
The Mk3 is designed fit the "Half helmet"
type helmet. These helmets are worn by many bikers across North
America. The half helmets are either round at the back or square. The
Mk3 are designed to fit the round back helmets. If fitted to the square
back helmets, some of the helmet may be left exposed. Some of the
larger square back helmets can be fitted with the Mk2, and the excess
trimmed to fit the helmet. This helmet cover will fit helmets that are
between 31" to 33" (80- 84 cm) in circumference.

To
size the helmet, simply measure the circumference of the helmet with a
flexible tape measure. The fabric tape measures used for sewing works
the best. For beanie and half helmets, measure the circumference on the
lower banding at the base of the helmet. For 3/4 helmets, square back
half helmets, and any variation, shorty helmets, etc., measure the
circumference around the helmet at forehead level. For many of the
other helmet types, the Mk2 can be fitted and the excess trimed with a
utility knife or sharp scissors.
Disclaimer:
Silly Helmet Covers are a rubber latex novelty item and
will stay on most helmets if fitted properly. If you choose to wear the
cover while riding, we do advise strongly that the cover be glued onto
the helmet with an appropriate glue. A few drops of glue on the lower
perimeter of the helmet at a number of points on the bottom lip of the
helmet is generally sufficient.
Rubber tire patch glue seems
to work well, and can be removed by rubbing off without damaging the
helmet. Customers have used "Gorilla Glue" and my personal favourite is
"the Last Glue"(available on the Internet), a few drops of this and
your good up to highway speeds. I have a helmet which I have dedicated
to my helmet cover, and like many of my biker friends, own more than a
single helmet. Have fun, ride safe.
